Sci-Tech Ireland are currently recruiting a Junior Laboratory Technician to join our busy team.
We are a commercial diagnostic laboratory based in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, specialising in poultry/porcine testing.
Job Duties:
· Logging of samples on arrival to LIMS database and preparation for samples for testing.
· Carry out testing of Poultry and Porcine blood samples to ISO17025 standards by various methods
· Testing of water samples
· Preparation and testing of PCR Samples
· Preparation of reagents as required
· Input of data onto spreadsheet
· Maintenance of general hygiene and housekeeping in accordance with laboratory COHH and risk assessment
Essential skills
The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate:
· Ability to work as part of a team
· A flexible approach to work including hours
· Reliable, punctual and well organised
· Previous laboratory experience and knowledge of Quality Procedures would be an advantage.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9-12 months
