MRI Modality Lead Radiographer Band 7

The Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, is currently inviting applications for an MRI Modality Lead Radiographer. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated hardworking individual to lead the MRI service as part of our highly skilled team in a state-of-the-art facility. The Modality Lead is responsible for maintaining clinical and professional standards whilst providing comprehensive and effective day-to-day management of the paediatric MRI service. The imaging equipment profile for this service includes two 1.5T MRI scanners, one of which is co-located to the theatre complex providing imaging for patients undergoing MRI imaging under General Anaesthetic or Sedation. The Radiology department strives to provide excellent patient focussed care while providing an innovative learning environment which will allow the successful candidate to develop exceptional skills, adapting techniques to achieve successful scanning of patients from premature neonates to adolescents and young adults. This is a dedicated paediatric service delivering a provision of specialist examinations for local, regional and national services including cardiac, neurosurgical, foetal and oncological imaging. If successful in your application, you will be required to participate in 7 day working over 365 days. It is essential you have a BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography / Imaging Sciences with current registration with the HCPC. The post holder will demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting staff training and development. This role, as well as management of the MRI service, will include duties involving the managerial responsibility for the imaging staff at the Royal Hospital for Children.
