Responsible to:
The IT Manager, who has overall responsibility for all IT Support staff and ultimately the Bursar & Chief Operating Officer, who has overall responsibility for support staff.
Responsible for:
Supporting the school community across all 3 schools in the daily use of IT Systems and technologies
Main responsibilities:
1. Assisting in providing effective 1stline support across all areas of the school community as directed by the Senior IT Technician
2. Assisting the operation of the school’s IT Helpdesk, following best practices and agreed escalation procedures to ensure incident resolution, meeting the department’s agreed SLAs.
3. Assisting with the testing, installation and configuration of hardware and software.
4. Assisting in maintaining the IT inventory and perform asset management related tasks to ensure compliance.
5. Carrying out agreed items from the IT Technician Maintenance Schedule, including preventative maintenance checks on equipment in key locations and to escalate issues to senior team members as required.
6. Maintaining and repairing IT equipment to ensure safe and correct usage, liaising with external suppliers for repairs under warranty.
7. Maintaining and configuring user mobile devices, ensuring software is kept up to date and components in a usable condition.
8. Facilitating audio/visual set up for school assemblies and other important events, assisting with livestreams and utilising recording equipment.
9. Assisting in maintaining the school’s video and photo archives, ensuring content is edited and stored effectively using the school’s online platform ‘KESTV’.
10. Supporting the school's print and copy environment, including liaising with reprographics to ensure consumable stock is kept at agreed levels and supervising visiting support personnel when on-site attendance is required.
11. Performing agreed user management tasks and ensuring users are configured within related administrative environments.
The above list is not exhaustive but summarises the key roles to be performed. A willingness to respond supportively to changing circumstances or the changing needs of the School is part of working in a school environment and is expected of the postholder.
Holiday Entitlement
There will be an initial entitlement to 20 days holiday plus 3 statutory days (taken over the Christmas period) plus 8 Bank Holidays per year. This will rise by one extra day for each completed year up to a maximum of 25 days.
Pension Scheme
If applicable, you will be automatically enrolled into the King Edward’s School, Bath Group Personal Pension Plan with an employer’s contribution of 6% of salary, to be matched by a 2% employee contribution.
DBS Clearance
All appointments are made subject to satisfactory DBS clearance. The suitability of all prospective employees or volunteers will be assessed during the recruitment process in line with this commitment.
Safeguarding
All staff are in a position of trust and have a duty to keep children and young people safe and to protect them from neglect and physical and emotional harm. This duty is in part exercised through the development of respectful caring and professional relationships between staff, children, and young people.
