In this role you work closely with Site IT Lead, and the wider European IT team, assist in providing hands on and proactive day-to-day support with infrastructure and application related activities and first line user support. Be the first point of contact for UK based user queries. Support Site IT infrastructures & applications in line with company requirements.
You are mainly responsible for:
- Provide first line user support, support colleagues onsite with technical support.
- Train users in correct usage of their computer.
- Communicate efficiently to ensure the end-users problems are resolved.
- Assist with identifying trends relating to IT failures and issues.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and prompt user support.
- Maintain accuracy of system documentation and asset database detailing all IT equipment
- Support with deployment of new software applications and updates to existing software packages
- Troubleshooting relevant equipment, including but not limited to PC/laptop, wired and wireless LAN problems, AV equipment including projects and speakers
- Support with the delivery of projects in line with business requirements
- Repair, image and configure old/new equipment
- Monitor, secure and maintain relevant systems to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Maintain relevant user access and permissions
- Ensure maintenance of micro-material and software stock inventory communicating any requirements to the relevant teams
- Ensure 1st level of preventive and curative operations on every hardware in the server room: network, servers
- Ensuring compliance with organisational procedures, projects and governance
- Ensuring correct installation, implementation and operating of technical equipment
- Installation of user equipment and plant / organisational updates
Typical Experience, Knowledge and Skills of the applicant:
- Interest in IT with aspirations to develop in the role
- Expert knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office and Office 365 Suite
- Good knowledge of Outlook and Active Directory
- Basic knowledge of TCP / IP network (DHCP, DNS etc.)
- A technical mindset with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts
- Basic understanding of PC hardware and software
- Excellent communication skills both in person and over the phone
- Positive and proactive attitude
- Work well autonomously and as part of a team
- 1-2 years’ experience in IT, IT infrastructure and application expertise
