The role
As a Junior Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) is a global function, which supplies and operates all IT, Security, Procurement, and Finance Shared Services. We are embedded alongside the operations that we serve, enabling us to maintain close working relationships which support delivery to our customers.

Day to day, you’ll ensure effective project delivery, striving to deliver to time, cost & quality constraints. Ability to take on small to medium projects without supervision, and/or, under the guidance of a Project Manager, medium Projects or work packages of larger projects.

• Deliver projects according to the IS Project Delivery lifecycle and delivery process
• Define and maintain project governance arrangements, documenting meeting terms of reference, roles and responsibilities, reporting and communication approach, and any other required project controls
• Coordinate communication with all areas of the business that impact the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed
• Maintain financial controls so that cost forecasts are maintained and tracked against budget, and actuals are regularly reconciled between project plans and the ERP system.
• Contribute to the enhancement of IT Project Management processes
• Assisting Business and operational stakeholders to identify and prioritise opportunities for business improvement
• Essential experience of the Junior Project Manager:
• Minimum of 1 Year Experience of being part of a project delivery team, within an IT environment, either as a Junior PM, Project Associate, or Project Manager.
• Strong IT desktop skills including good knowledge of Excel.
• Any knowledge of infrastructure technologies would be desirable, including: Server infrastructure, Firewalling and security, Networking – WAN and LAN, CISCO infrastructure – routers / switches
• This is a full time and permanent position at 37.5 hours per week, we are open to flexible working arrangements to support your personal life whilst not risking business requirements. Hybrid working is available, with 1 to 2 days per week onsite.
• Some travel may be required, with some overnight stays away from home too.

Qualifications for the Junior Project Manager:

• Possess a foundation qualification in Project Management with the ability and commitment to gain further PRINCE/APM or equivalent project management certification
• The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
