Role: Junior Graphic Designer – 12 Months Fixed Term Contract
Basic Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum dependent upon experience

We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic Junior Graphic Designer to support the growth of the Polaris Community through creative design. The Polaris Community is one of the largest providers of children’s services, and our community of services span the length and breadth of the whole of the UK.
We need a creative Junior Graphic Designer to work within the central Marketing team to support the development of online, digital and content marketing initiatives. You’ll work closely with the Head of Foster Parent Marketing, and the wider marketing team to create and deliver exciting campaigns, across a number of different channels, designed to attract new Foster Parents.
You will also work with stakeholders from across the whole community and act as the first point of contact for any design requests we received from across the community. Due to the nature of what we do, this is a broad role where you could be working on a new downloadable guide for prospective foster parents one day or designing the signage for a new school the next.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to grown their career in this 12 month maternity cover and work across a wide variety of design jobs.
We’re also big on getting the work/life balance right and a number of the marketing team already work remotely. We’re open to this role being remote too, however, occasional travel to our Bromsgrove office may be required.
Main responsibilities of the role:
· Support the growth of new business through creative design in both graphic and digital activities.
· Works alongside the Marketing Director, Head of Foster Parent Marketing, and the wider Marketing team to bring the strategy for all businesses with the Polaris Community alive, through compelling design and production.
· Highly skilled in Adobe CS applications with the ability to produce stunning visuals and keep up-to-date with the latest developments, techniques and styles in design.
· An excellent understanding of graphic design both digitally and print.
· Meets with marketing colleagues and internal stakeholders to determine design needs and follows up with regular conversations and updates.
· Works as ‘brand police’ to maintain brand guidelines and standard in all collateral.
· Works solely/alongside external agency to create creative concepts for digital campaigns.
· Regularly checks in with stakeholders to assess their satisfaction on the material produced, determine necessary updates and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
· Provides press support (proofreading, packaging of files and spec checks) to Marketing Managers for printed material.
· Assists the marketing team with publishing content by proofreading, editing, and posting text and uploading graphics to the websites.
· The ability to correctly judge priorities across several projects and varied levels of activity.
The chosen candidate will have the following:
· At least 3 years’ experience.
· Fluent in Adobe CS applications.
· Creative skillset for contributing new and innovative ideas to the website.
· Strong organisational skills and communication skills a must.
· Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
· Capacity to prioritise and work on multiple projects.
· Ability to work independently and flexibly.
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Proactive and resourceful with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
