As a graphic designer, you'll create eye-catching visuals and will need to be creative, flexible and able to work well with others.
You'll work on a variety of products and activities, such as websites, collateral, POS, product packaging, corporate communications and corporate identity, i.e. giving organisations a visual brand.
Working to a brief that has been agreed with the client, head of creative, senior account manager or account manager, you'll develop appropriate creative ideas and concepts for the client's objectives.
The work demands creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Graphic Designer you’ll need to:
- Using industry software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator to create visual designs.
- Collaborate with senior designers to produce final product.
- Understanding and interpreting client briefs.
- Supporting clients and/or the business to understand the impact of graphic design.
- Working with creative colleagues such as copywriters and social media experts.
- Ensuring that design work is aligned with other methods of communication.
- Working on a range of design pieces, from social media posts to packaging design and full-scale branding projects.
- Participate in brainstorms and creative sessions, working with the Marketing Team and Account Managers to ensure creative work is based on real insights from the target audience / market.
- Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
- Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, illustrators, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists, social media experts.
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a junior designer.
- A design-based qualification
- An excellent portfolio of creative projects.
- A strong understanding and working knowledge of Adobe design software (in particular InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop).
- Good command over design techniques and visual elements.
- Excellent communication, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Teamwork skills.
- Creative thinking with attention to detail.
- Passion and enthusiasm for design, with a creative flair
- A flexible approach when working in a team.
- Excellent communication skills to interpret and negotiate briefs with clients
- Good presentation skills and the confidence to explain and sell ideas to clients and colleagues.
- Time management skills and the ability to cope with several projects at once.
- Ensure work is accurate, consistent and follows brand guidelines.
- Be open and flexible to feedback, willing to make changes to your designs.
- Effective networking skills to build contacts.
Desirable skills:
- Experience of using WordPress.
- Ability to use Adobe XD.
- Ability to use Adobe After Effects.
