We are looking for a diligent and passionate junior graphic designer to join the Group Channels and Content team in Global Communications.
Under the direction of the Head of Creative, you will support the development and creation of multimedia assets for film, social media and corporate website. You are creative thinker, resourceful and meticulous with excellent design flair and relish the idea of working in a fun, fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will:
- In line with brand guidelines, design and produce high quality and visually impactful digital assets for the HSBC website, social media channels, film, digital newsletters and more
- Conceptualise and produce rough layouts of art and copy: arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts as per the creative brief
- Adjust designs and copy according to direction and feedback provided by stakeholders
- Support multimedia editor to produce creative design assets for inclusion in films
- Support the social media team to create paid and organic social media assets
- Accurately estimates the time required to complete work, and works successfully within time and cost constraints
- Write creative design briefs for external agencies
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Essential:
- Solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign, Powerpoint
- Strong understanding of design principles: typography, photo art direction, composition, colour theory, proportion etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design and/or design experience in an agency or in-house
- Experience of producing high quality multimedia
- Strong portfolio demonstrating your talent
- Ability to learn new software, if needed, to accomplish projects
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work and deliver multiple tasks/projects
- Willing to learn and interest in film production
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programmes (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams)
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise
- A friendly and confident manner that enables open and active dialogue with stakeholders
Desirable:
- Interest in video editing is a bonus
- Experience using Adobe After Effects
- Experience of working in a large complex organisation
- Experience of working within financial services
The base location for this role is London/Hybrid.
