Junior/Graduate Software Engineer - Kaon Ltd
Full-time Position Guildford, Surrey
Salary: Circa £30k – £40k depending on experience

The Role
We are currently seeking a graduate software engineer to join our engineering team, if successful you will be working as part of a team utilising your skills in system design, software development and testing. At Kaon, engineers have the opportunity to operate across the whole product and project lifecycle; an engineer will be involved in bid work writing winning proposals, demonstrate their expertise in consultancy reports, help design, specify and implement world leading electronic systems and be found testing deployed systems in the UK and abroad. We need engineers that are up to this challenge.

Essential Personal Qualities and Qualifications:
− A good university degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline;
− Experience in developing C/C++ or Java software applications;
− Possess a good command of the English language, both written and oral;
− Be able to work autonomously and as a part of a team
− Have an adaptable and flexible attitude and take pride in your work;
Any of the following additional skills would be advantageous:
− Understanding of software development and design processes, documentation and testing;
− Networking - Understanding of IP protocols and their mapping to software applications and/or Ethernet switch configurations for network optimisation;
− Experience of Linux based operating systems;
− Understanding of development services (GitLab / Jenkins / Artifactory / Docker)
− Understanding of software implementation for real-time systems;
− Maintain a methodical and objective approach to testing;
− Low Level Interfacing – Understanding of hardware level aspects associated with controlling and writing/using Linux driver interfaces;
− Experience of writing DSP algorithms in C/C++;
− Experience in the implementation of algorithms using NVidia CUDA for GPU operation;
− Experience of MATLAB and/or Python for signal processing or mathematics applications;
− GUI Development – Experience in developing intuitive data visualisation displays and understanding the customer’s requirements;
− Ability to apply signal processing techniques to solve a wide variety of problems;
