The role We invite applications for the compelling role of Junior Geospatial Data Engineer at Sensat. This dynamic position serves as the bedrock of transforming raw geospatial data into high-quality, refined products and geospatial content, expertly curated for our clients. You will have the responsibility of developing and sustaining our geospatial data systems and services, setting new benchmarks for innovation in the geospatial tech industry. You will be an integral component in the deployment of data pipelines for geospatial data, crafting spatial analysis tools, and shaping the development of our cutting-edge geospatial technologies. At Sensat, we spearhead the geospatial tech landscape, offering an unrivalled proposition of a high-performing cloud-based visualisation platform alongside the proficiency to secure super-high-resolution data through UAV, LiDAR, and Driven Mapping Units. Your meticulous attention to detail and technical acumen will be a crucial catalyst in the timely and efficient delivery of projects, conforming to pre-defined scopes. Joining the Data Engineering team, your expertise will be channeled towards data processing and engineering across an array of disciplines, comprising photogrammetry, LiDAR, GIS, and CAD. Your responsibility extends to the transformation of raw or unrefined reality capture datasets into premium 3D outputs. You will engage in collaborative efforts with data capture and survey teams to ensure timely and precise project delivery. This role necessitates the application of robust data management skills and practices to preserve data integrity and quality. An interdisciplinary role, you will also partner with other teams, such as software engineers, customer success, and data capture, in meeting organisational needs and project objectives. Our ethos centres on delivering top-tier geospatial data, and we expect you to uphold these high standards of quality, with an unwavering focus on detail. What you'll be doing Manage and sustain spatial databases, and actively take part in development of data generation pipelines, data analytics, and other strategic initiatives that enhance data efficiency and quality. Convert raw geospatial data from UAV photogrammetry, Terrestrial and Driven LiDAR into superior quality 3D models of clients' assets using various software and programming languages. Generate geospatial data, including Photogrammetry, LiDAR, GIS, and CAD. Apply survey methodologies and geospatial science to deliver superlative data accuracy. Conduct regular system inspections and uphold data integrity by establishing and implementing protocols for data quality control. Showcase your programming acumen to generate derivatives from large and ultra-high-resolution geospatial data. You should also have the ambition and passion to work with machine learning. Manage data and cloud resources to ensure streamlined data handling. Sustain our processes to enhance our existing products and services. Oversee multiple projects and processing tasks simultaneously. Liaise with multiple internal stakeholders, managing delivery expectations and deadlines. What you'll bring Good knowledge of Geospatial Sciences, encompassing remote sensing, GIS, and CAD, with a technical understanding of mapping and experience using Coordinate Reference Systems. Some prior experience utilising remote sensing software (Photogrammetry and LiDAR). Confident in manipulating geospatial data using programming languages and Open Source tools and libraries, predominantly Python and associated geospatial libraries (we are language agnostic). Experience in manipulating and engineering large scale geospatial data. A keen eye for detail and exceptional quality assurance skills. Relevant qualifications in Geospatial Science or Geodesy would be an asset.
