Doubletake is the innovation team for Frasers Group, we work with a number of well-established brands ranging from activewear to high fashion.
We are quicky growing as a team therefore now require an experienced Junior Technologist to join the small tech team, who report into the senior technologist and Fraser group’s head of design.
The brands we work with are multiproduct women’s/men’s, therefore the junior technologist will be expected to have the relevant knowledge and be confident to take ownership on all product types ranging from activewear, to lingerie!
Doubletake Innovation also take part in collaborations with outside brands and influencers (most recently Zara, Free People, MJB for Selfridges) therefore along with the day-to-day tech duties, this role will lead new exiting opportunities and chances to elevate your skills!
As a Junior Technologist you will be required to confidently lead weekly fit session (alone and with the garment technologist) across both MW and WW for multiple brands. You will be in control of all technical aspects from initial sampling through to bulk production. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge, ability and organisation skills to ensure all products are fit for purpose and different end uses.
Strong communication skills are essential as you will be required to liaise with internal teams, buyers and overseas suppliers, communicating technical specifications and detailed fit comments ensuring all details are understood and followed correctly.
- Attend all weekly fit meetings both with the technologist and alone.
- Record all fit comments and relay to the factories ensuring amendments are accurately reflected in future samples or production.
- implement standard measurements and record / measure against spec
- Ensure measurements are consistent across the supplier base as it expands
- Define and maintain grading / sizing rules for each garment type and for each individual brand.
- Assist design team by sending out all initial specs based on their tech packs
- Flag any variance in sizes prior to fit meetings and ensure factory is informed where appropriate.
- Help tech to create a block library for each brand, ensure this is updated each season
- Support the factories & buying team on any construction queries.
- Ensure all garments are sealed ahead of the factories starting production.
- Assess & fit all pre-production, top of production and shipment samples. Flag any issues that could impact delivery to buying team.
- Report on quality, faults and production each season detailing each factory performance against target. Feedback to management and wider team
- Assess any consumer and wholesale returns and ensure any recurring issues are addressed. Feed this back to management and wider team
- Oversee fabric testing across all brands ensuring fabrics are both innovative, good quality and fit for purpose
- Establish and maintain the new testing/due diligence process clothing, and help to establish a new manual for other product types e.g. gym accessories, homeware
- Run wearer trial process for the company and feedback to senior team
- Help to establish new innovation technology for the company e.g. Virtual fitting, in house bra support innovation
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience working in a retail / similar industry
- The ability to listen to others and to work well as part of a team

- Communication skills, both written and oral.
