We are hiring for a Junior Finance Manager within a PE backed and growing business which operates in the corporate eLearning space.
The role will report into the Group Financial Controller and is a key role within a team of 8 finance professionals.

So, what is a Finance Manager at Sponge?
Job titles can be an enigma these days, so let's break it down a little!
Key elements of the role:
- Monthly consolidation of group operating businesses including two European subsidiaries
- Management of holding companies, consolidation entity and associated group accounting (e.g. goodwill, financing)
- Production of monthly group financial reports, including monthly board report covering P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and working capital
- Month-end balance sheet review responsibilities
- Group treasury management, including supporting group cash flow forecasting and banking covenant reporting
- Closing and opening monthly and year end accounting periods in Microsoft Dynamics, reconciling FX movements
- Review of group adherence to technical accounting standards
- Balance Sheet reviews and reconciliations
- Management of inter-group management charges
- Responsibility for management of annual group financial audit
- Ownership of annual financial statement production for the UK Germany and Belgium
- Management of payroll bureau
- Management of outsourced tax compliance
- Ad hoc finance projects including system enhancements
Key candidate requirements:
- ACA qualified accountant with up to 2 years PQE
- Audit training background, preferably with B2B / service business client experience
- Project revenue accounting experience preferable with knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS 15 preferable
- Personable with strong communication skills

Location
Our new headquarters is in the Bristol area (The Paintworks). We offer a mix of home and office working because we believe both are necessary for a high performing team. We know you need some time to concentrate and avoid constant commuting, so homeworking is essential, but we also feel face-to-face time is important too.
We work in a Hybrid way with 2-3 days per week in the office and the rest of the week worked remotely. We offer flexible working options also to help find the right work-life balance for you.
This role is Bristol based.
