Job description

This opportunity is a great chance to work for a leading branded UK food manufacturer. As the Commercial Executive you will report to the Commercial Controller and will be supporting the National Account Managers and Controller with internal and external customer and stakeholder liaison.

The Commercial Executive will be responsible for the provision of general account support to deliver customer projects and as required to deliver the customer account plans, Bernard Matthews commercial strategy and specific customer projects.

This role is split between our offices in Norwich and Birmingham and we would welcome applications from either location.

Main Duties of the Commercial Executive:

  • Contribute and be responsible for the team delivery of commercial customer objectives
  • Event management (eg new product launches, promotions delisting etc)
  • Data and business plan analysis
  • Forecasting
  • Customer relationships
  • Critical team member responsible for driving the Bernard Matthews brand and retailer brand
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication delivered to customers
  • Work closely with the sales team, marketing team to forecast new products and de-lists to ensure minimum write off costs and procurement efficiencies
  • Prepare reports and maintain spreadsheets

  • Organisational and prioritisation
  • Ability to analyse data and identify drivers, trends and opportunities, and utilise excellent decision-making ‘Best in class’ Customer Relationship Management

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Understanding of the retail grocery market and relevant retailer positioning and strategy
  • Ability to demonstrate category and consumer rationales of solutions tailored to specific retailers
  • Commercial awareness
  • Team-focussed - participation and influencing skills
  • Advanced PC skills including ability to use Microsoft Office programs and bespoke internet applications
