Junior Energy Trader Remote
Job description
This role is responsible for assisting in the management of customer and portfolio exposure to energy markets. Assist in analysing and monitoring positions to ensure that they remain in line with stated policy, strategy and budget/targets. Assisting in fundamental analysis and its interpretation. Development towards contacting clients and having regular review meetings to discuss current market conditions, existing positions and trading strategies.
Working in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth running and delivery of services to customers and colleagues.
- Assist in the position management of portfolios and customer positions
- Develop towards supporting clients directly with their own Risk Management or trading for them with delegated authority
- Analyses of market data, price history and fundamentals to develop potential trading strategies to support Risk Management clients
- Assist in production of market intelligence content for PR and other online content
- Highlight data requirements for the Market Intelligence team
- Coordinate and liaise with other departments on customer issues when required
Experience and Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the wholesale energy market
- Knowledge of fundamental price analysis
- Experience of trading in energy or commodities markets
- Able to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Confident and articulate
- Enthusiastic and well driven, able to achieve deadlines.
- An eye for detail and a desire to achieve high standards of work.
- Reliable and trustworthy
- To be proactive in achieving objectives and meeting deadlines

This role can be done remotely or from either of our offices in Wallington or Redditch.
