Who Are We?
We are the National Ice Centre & Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham.
The largest entertainment venue in the East Midlands with 2 Olympic sized ice pads and an arena with a crowd capacity of 10,000.
At our venue we showcase the biggest names in music, comedy, entertainment, and sport. We host over 100 events and welcome 800,000+ visitors through our doors each year.
We are also home to the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey Team, who play 30+ home league & cups games each season.
In addition, we are the head office for National Catering and National Merchandise who offer event and venue services across the UK and Ireland, including London, Dublin, Belfast, Liverpool, Nottingham, Birmingham, Coventry, and Glasgow.
What do we offer?

Who Are We Looking For?
Junior Developer
Our Junior Developer will assist our Full Stack Developer in taking ownership of all web platforms across our business, shaping our digital platform. The successful candidate will carry out day to day web and digital development work including troubleshooting, fixing any issues related to our online presence and developing and maintaining code for web and mobile platforms.
In addition, our Junior Developer will:
- Develop and maintain secure, good quality code and ensure it is built with high performance and responsive web interfaces
- Utilise all APIs available to us from the various systems we have within the business and develop new innovative ideas
- Work with our marketing team on the look and feel of the digital platforms and confirm UI and UX as part of the full lifecycle
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies.
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
- Assisting in monthly digital reporting, ensuring our websites are tagged and tracked accurately using Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and other reporting systems.
- Develop, measure, and improve SEO effectiveness across our websites.
- Maintain technical documentation and complete accurate and up to date records of changes.
- Work with our business analyst to develop and present data dashboards in a simple and effective way for sharing both internally and externally
The ideal candidate have had previous experience of working within a similar environment and will be able to share a portfolio of their work.
They will have an excellent understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript with an understanding of SEO provisions and a good understanding of accessibility requirements within web.
They will understand how to work and manage MongoDB and MySQL databases and have a strong understanding of Next.js, React.js and Node.js frameworks.
They will be able to comply with SASS and BEM methodologies and be able to construct Docker files and Docker Compose files.
Experience or knowledge of Cordova.js, Electron.js or Swift for app development would be an advantage as is the use of SSH to connect to Debian 11 (and others) servers for remote management and project deployment.
