Job description
BBC Cymru Wales is the nation's leading provider of news on television, radio, online and social media. We are looking for a Junior Designer who will be a member of BBC Wales News graphics team, delivering highly creative and hands on design solutions for daily news output across all platforms. The role is part of the Visual Journalism and Audiences team where the BBC Wales News audience and visual expertise sits. This job involves shift and weekend working and is a fixed term contract for 6 months.
You will be a part of BBC Wales News’ graphics teams’ output across all platforms. Working with the Adobe Creative Suite you will design and produce moving graphics for broadcast or digital platforms as directed within the BBCs editorial guidelines and brand. You will contribute to a positive working relationship both within the team and in the wider newsroom. You will be confident dealing with often competing demands in a fast changing, and complex environment.
You will have excellent communication skills and will thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure environment - with the ability to do your best work against tight deadlines. You will be an Adobe Creative Suite User with a love of moving graphics combined with a mission to explain complex issues to a wide audience. You will have examples of great work, demonstrating creative flair, a relevant degree or equivalent experience. You will have a passion for News and Current Affairs, an interest in the technical side of studio production and digital workflows (on the job training will be given) and knowledge of the latest design trends.
