A role as a Junior Data Scientist in our Asset Risk department you’ll be:
- Translating business problems into requirements, projects, and solutions
- Building queries and reports for creating statistical data analysis and visualisations
- Maintaining, documenting, and (re)developing forecasting models
- Implementing data science techniques for decision optimisation
- Communicating effectively to technical and non-technical audiences in key meetings
- Working collaboratively with the analytics teams and the wider business
- Embedding data governance and model risk management principles in Asset Risk
Asset Risk have invested significantly in their data and Machine Learning capabilities, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging our new systems to create insight and data-driven decisions, providing a platform for your personal growth and career development.
About You
The successful candidate will have gained the following experience/skills:
- An analytical mindset, you enjoy figuring out how and why things work
- Keen critical thinking skills and creativity to look at problems from your own unique perspective
- A strong interest in data science and analytics with a passion for learning and self-development
- Commercial awareness and a keen interest in how the business operates
- A confident communicator who enjoys collaborating within the team and across functions
Minimum Criteria:
- Graduate with a degree in a numerate discipline and relevant work experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with a high attention to detail
- Experience of statistical analysis, model building and data visualisation
- Intermediate SQL & Python skills, and Advanced Excel
- Knowledge of OAS tools and machine learning algorithms would be advantageous
