The Role
The Insight & Data Science team plays a central role in informing company decision-making and identifying opportunities to grow the business. In an industry where data sources are very limited this requires an inventive, flexible approach to create new data sources and maximize their potential.
The purpose of this role is to contribute to our evidence-led decision-making mission by maintaining and improving data and reporting capabilities, and proactively identifying new opportunities. You would join our friendly, collaborative working environment where your contribution is absolutely central to business performance every day. This team puts a big emphasis on continued learning and development.
To be successful in this role you will need to be creative and adaptable to solve problems and run projects independently and with our close-knitted team.
Key responsibilities
· Maintain weekly reporting across different datasets including internal orders, competitor range information, and social media trends
· Constantly search for improvements to existing datasets and reports in terms of functionality, quality, and accuracy, as well as solving and preventing data issues
· Find and deliver new qualitative and quantitative opportunities for data we can capture and innovative data suppliers we can partner with
· Build simple, user-friendly reports
· Monitor and report on trends in our current and potential customer base and the market as a whole
· Technical Requirements
· Grade 2:1 or above in a Business, Mathematics, or Science-based degree
· Comfortable writing in Python and R, with basic proficiency with SQL
· Good statistical understanding with an interest in statistical modelling
· Ideally some experience in web-scraping, Power BI or equivalent data visualization, and Machine Learning fundamentals
· Comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint

Location and Working Hours:
Working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week from our site in Droitwich Spa, UK.
There will be the Option for HYBRID work (in the office 1 day per week on average with visits of 2-3 days between once and twice per month).
