ROLE

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Analyst to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a passion for working with data, and a desire to contribute to data-driven decision-making. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced data analysts and data scientists to analyze and interpret data, identify trends and insights, and help develop reports and dashboards for both internal and external stakeholders.

As a Junior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting in the collection, processing, and analysis of large datasets, as well as the presentation of your findings in a clear and actionable manner. You will also be involved in various data-related projects, such as data cleaning and validation, database management, and the creation of ad-hoc reports. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their analytical skills and grow in the field of data analysis while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.


You will be responsible for


  • Creation of prototype self-service analytical tools and dashboards. This would be in cases where a question or request is likely to be repeated by other stakeholders.
  • Contributing towards the creation of a set of tools, techniques and practices that maximize the impact and efficiency of the team in turning raw data into useful and analysable derived data sets, and developing re-usable analytical and visualization methods.
  • Work with the team to develop and enhance the technical tools including steering the development of the analytics data warehouse for enterprise data, and interconnections with various internal data systems.
  • Sharing data science knowledge with the wider team.
  • Contributing to organic growth and new business efforts


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

While the below is an ideal profile, we are looking for data and computer science professionals so the role may be able to be tailored to fit your experience if we think it might be a good fit.

  • Relevant degree subject or course (e.g. Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science)
  • Programming/automation experience in Python
  • Experience with SQL, cloud data warehousing and setting up data pipelines
  • Experience with the AWS suite and cloud computing
  • Experience using agile techniques
  • Experience with github and version control
  • Machine learning/Modelling experience – Regression, Classification, Frequentist/Bayesian methods, boosting/bagging algorithms etc.
  • Any other coding or software development experience in any language a plus!
