Junior Clinical Fellow (SHO/ST1-2 Level) / Trust Grade in Cardiology

Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow (SHO/CT1-2level) post in cardiology to be based at the Royal Brompton Hospital for a period of 6 months in the first instance, extendable by mutual consent to up to 24 months.
The post holder will be expected to be at CT1/2 level. The successful candidate will participate in a 1:10 on-call rota (which does not include nights).

To work in the cardiology department and alongside other SHOs in all other specialist teams within the Heart Division. To undertake clinical work in the cardiology department. Clinical activity will include mainly inpatient care, outpatient clinics, and a quality improvement project. The junior clinical fellow will be able to attend training opportunities and educational meetings which are also offered to other junior staff in our Trust.
To provide clinical services in cardiology, in accordance with clinical and legal requirements and in keeping with the international role of the Trust.
The Heart Division provides a comprehensive service for the investigation and treatment of cardiac disease. The Division is sub-divided into clinical sections with sub-speciality interests in Revascularisation, Structural Heart Disease, Heart Failure, Electrophysiology, Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Pulmonary Hypertension.

To be part of the cardiology service at Royal Brompton Hospital in collaboration with medical and surgical colleagues and other departments and services. The candidate will be expected to interact with all teams and cross-cover other members of the junior cardiology team
Participate in an on-call rota covering inpatient activity and emergency work throughout cardiology.
Compatible with the above commitments, to work as a full member of the team, including ward rounds, attendance and presentation at weekly MDTs, and meetings.
Participate in new patient and follow-up consultant-led outpatient clinics.
To undertake regular ward rounds to ensure effective management during the in-patient stay and early discharge of patients whenever possible.
Participate in audit within the department.
Participate fully in the service and training programme of the Division
