Junior Business Analyst
London/Hybrid
We are looking for a highly motivated and versatile Junior Business Analyst to join our Group Ceded Reinsurance team team across European Operations. Your primary focus will be to work alongside our DC XL Global Business Lead in the implementation of essential IT Software which in turn will drive key business led change and to support the achievement of business objectives.

Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in defect triage and prioritization, and addressing any requirements defects, changes or questions that come out of QA testing.
- Contribute towards overall improvement in quality of analysis outputs.
- Deliver and where appropriate ensure delivery of analysis documentation that can be easily reused.
- Plan analysis activities, develop and gain agreement to detailed work breakdown plans to ensure delivery against agreed timescales.
- Assist in the development of project plans
- Contribute (or where necessary create) high level design documentation, which outlines the potential solution for the business.
- Support end-users by reviewing requests, aligning process changes with business requirements, and overseeing and contributing to team development of thorough process documentation to deliver effective and appropriate solutions.
- Supporting the Business Lead on the validation of test plans and /or creation of UAT model. You will work with the business to facilitate execution of user acceptance testing and triage and reporting of results.
- Identify and eliminate risks to complex change implementation by planning user acceptance testing, clarifying, and ensuring developers understand requirements, coordinating users, executing tests, monitoring test completion, escalating issues and soliciting feedback to support accurate testing and alignment with desired outcomes.
- Work with Project Manager and Prima XL Global Business Lead to define analysis work packages that will need to be executed during the project. Where required, deliver analysis approach, work plans and other material that may be required to successfully plan the project.
- Ensure data integrity by reviewing data to be used for report development.
- Data accuracy for business reporting purposes and feed to downstream systems.
- Assist with capturing reinsurance agreements in the reinsurance system to ensure that correct details are logged.
You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience, or clear potential to develop these:
- Knowledge of SQL/Oracle and VBA (Excel) / Experience working with relational database.
- Knowledge of MS Power BI or similar analysis and BI tools is a plus.
- Familiarity of systems development lifecycle (SDLC) and disciplines preferably within a multi-vendor environment.
- Ability to define business analysis approach for complex programs/projects
- Ability to effectively critique business analysis and project documents
- Impartiality – accurately reflects facts. Always maintains an objective & balanced view
- Proactive - looks ahead for potential problems and takes preventative or mitigating action in advance.
- Self-Drive - responds to challenging priorities with a sense of urgency and pace.
- Ability to understand, capture and document requirements in a structured and efficient manner
Preferred Knowledge:
- 2+ years in similar tech service environment, within related industries
- Able to demonstrate workable knowledge and experience in gathering/analysis, business process modelling/mapping and change management
