The Company
One of my very good clients in Cardiff has contacted me this week as he is now on a lookout for a Junior CAD/BIM Technician to join their team in Cardiff office. The company has got offices all over the UK including London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Cardiff and is now seeking a motivated individual who wants to join their CAD team.
The Role
The Role for CAD/BIM Technician within Building Services
- Assisting the engineers in producing accurate drawings and 3D models.
- Monitoring the adherence of project specific BIM requirements/standards.
- Providing technical support to engineering colleagues.
- Reporting on design clashes internally and within the wider design team.
- Creating parametric families.
- Support our profession wide Digital Engineering Lead in the deployment of new and advanced methods of engineering modelling and simulation.The successful candidate will be results oriented and enjoy challenging opportunities. Qualifications & Experience
- has 2 years of exposure into CAD and BIM
- has a passion for Digital Engineering, Building Information Modelling and innovation
- can demonstrate their experience of projects delivered within a BIM environment.
- has knowledge of design as this is essential to this role of BIM technician
- can calculate and schedule within a Revit environment, as this would be advantageous
- has knowledge and experience of advanced BIM technology and computer programming such as dynamo & python would be advantageous
- is motivated and is self-organised
- is competent and experienced in Revit project creation, model auditing, clash detection, design & coordination of mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) services and creation of MEP content
- is proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
- have good communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels
- be able to meet specific deadlines
