Junior Barristers’ Clerk

Our client is now seeking a Junior
Clerk to join their dynamic team, to assist in the efficient running of Chambers following their move to new modern premises.
The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic individual who wants to learn the clerking profession and is keen to progress in the same. They should be equally comfortable working on their own initiative and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be able to make well-reasoned decisions and take responsibility of tasks and ensure they are executed in a thorough and timely fashion. They must also display strong interpersonal skills, being able to deal with professional clients and members in a competent and courteous way, ensuring that they are always maintaining and creating good relationships with
Chambers' existing and prospective clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Answering the telephones and correctly relaying messages
- Efficient management and distribution of incoming communications, urgent papers/instructions
- Fixing hearings at court
- Assisting the clerking team with the administration of Chambers
- Maintaining stationery and office supplies
- Managing the printing, scanning and organisation of court bundles
- Lodging and exchange of skeleton arguments
- Distribution of the DX
- General office duties
