The Coordinator of Liberty Partnership Program (LLP) provides a variety of services to high school students, who are enrolled in the Liberty Partnerships Program at Onondaga Community College, to assist them in graduating from high school and preparing them for college and/or the workforce.
Job Requirements:
Major Responsibilities
Deliver program services to new and continuing Onondaga LPP students
Outreach to program partners and Syracuse City School District (SCSD) faculty/administration to monitor student progress
Consult with SCSD faculty/administration to develop intervention strategies as needed;
Collect/report student data as required by NYSED for grant reporting
Assist in the planning and implementation of program activities and LPP work plan
Conduct follow- up communication with key stakeholders for evaluation of program components
Sustain a regular documentation of interactions with schools and students in an online database
Deliver presentations to educators, parents and community groups
Provide a daily presence in the various high schools to interact with LPP students and SCSD staff
Act as a liaison between the Program Director and other LPP staff
Gather and organize student schedules for easy access by LPP staff
Work with the Program Director to maintain the online LPP database for Onondaga LPP students
Complete Personal Learning Plan (PLP) with program students and LPP staff
Continually recruit new students to the program to maintain service to 350 students
Chaperone LPP events and field trips
Support the goals of the Onondaga Community College LPP program
Provide on-going support and assistance to the Program Director
Attend professional development opportunities when available with LPP staff
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Two years of experience working in an educational setting preferably with middle school and high school students
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish. (English and another language will be considered.)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to work effectively in various educational settings with diverse audiences
Creative and solution-oriented with proven skills in removing obstacles and barriers to academic success
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Knowledge of K- 12 and Higher Education systems
Experience with urban education and students at risk
Experience in organizing and interpreting student data
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
