Description: Enthusiastic and self motivated junior assistant project manager required to develop their career within a niche sector technical consultancy environment. Genuinely superb opportunity!
Our highly successful niche sector client has been established for more than 30 years and offers a range of services that encompass Project Management and Implementation, Consultancy and Software Development to blue chip clients worldwide. As a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Junior Assistant Project Manager to complement the existing project management team.To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is likely that you will be a project manager perhaps early on in your career where you may be currently managing small projects with aspirations to progress to larger and more challenging projects with support and training.
You will possess excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to build a rapport with clients, the supply chain and team members alike, and it is envisaged that you will realistically be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
With demonstrable familiarity of Project Management processes, risk management, commercial management and contract execution techniques, plus experience of managing small projects to time, cost and quality objectives, a working knowledge of control systems would prove distinctly advantageous.
Core responsibilities will include (but not be limited to)
- The Project delivery of small projects with full responsibility of budgets, timescales and meeting the requirements to agreed targets.
- Preparing project programmes and management of project delivery timescales for engineering labour and materials.
- Maintaining a risk register and managing the identification and mitigation of risks, issues and opportunities.
- Financial reporting including cost monitoring and spend forecasting of labour and materials and preparing quotes for contract variations
- Undertaking project meetings both internal and with clients and liaising with engineers, project managers, clients and stakeholders.
- Management of internal project engineers and supply chain.
- Preparing monthly progress reports.
- Contract management for changes to requirements, cost, timescales and unforeseen events. Generally using NEC contract processes.
- Managing client payment applications and certifying supply chain invoices.
In return, an excellent remuneration and benefits package as well as generous overtime and benefits structure are available, and as the client invests heavily in the training and development of their staff and want to develop engineers of the future, these are genuinely great opportunities for suitably enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals seeking a once on a lifetime chance to join a genuinely fantastic employer.
