Refeyn:
Refeyn is developing mass photometry, a new technology for the analysis of biomolecules that measures the mass of single molecules with light. Refeyn spun out the University of Oxford's Department of Chemistry in 2018. The Refeyn group is uniquely positioned for rapid growth worldwide.
Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Junior Assay development scientist to join Refeyn team in Oxford. Refeyn is a pioneer in mass photometry, a revolutionary technique to analyse biomolecules (eg. protein, DNA, RNA) in solution.
Refeyn is looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking person with an "can do" attitude and experience in biochemistry and molecular biology related techniques.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join our team and actively contribute to the further development of mass photometry and optimize new applications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new applications and mass photometry procedures
- Testing new software and instruments before release
- Support collaborations with partners by analysing samples using mass photometry and other relevant techniques
- Proactively identifying problems and assisting in creating and implementing solutions
- Capture and report data with technical rigor
Requirements:
- Background in Biological sciences, Biochemistry or related subjects – preferentially with previous laboratory experience
- Attention to details and ability to follow instructions - written and verbal
- Team working skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
