Who we are looking for

A Junior Application Systems Developer who will will be responsible for the support, development, configuration and implementation of services across our IT function following training in BMC Helix.

Full training of our BMC Helix ITSM solution will be given to enable you to support, enhance and develop systems. You will learn how all the elements of the BMC Helix suite of applications interact with each other, and how we can integrate with other services to enhance our offering and deliver excellence to the Business. You will learn to develop, configure and code using multiple tools and languages, and personal development will be tailored to your strengths.

From understanding the Business requirements to delivering the change and supporting the internal users, you will become a key member of the team delivering enhanced user experiences to our internal customers.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

Knowledge of IT Service Management products and applications inparticular BMC Helix would be preferred but not essential.
Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, whilst being organised and adept at working to tight deadlines in a fast moving environment.
Knowledge of the creation and development of new business processes, as well as their maintenance and implementation.
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash and Python is desirable.
Understanding of database technologies such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
Basic knowledge of underpinning technology principals including Active Directory and DNS.
Understanding of how data moves across an enterprise network.
Enthusiastic with a desire to learn.

Main Responsibilities

Providing support, management and resolution of incidents and requests raised.
Performing daily checks to ensure that the platforms we support are running optimally.
Taking ownership of tasks from conception through to production, ensuring quality standards are achieved and key stakeholders are kept up to date with progress.
Developing and delivering highly efficient, robust, quality code and improvements to current systems and reporting tools.
Working on DWP and Service Broker workflow for end user consumption and automation of requests. Ranging from ticket logging requests, to full end to end orchestration of highly complex requests and processes.
Understanding of or a willingness to learn all aspects of BMC Helix ITSM, including its underlying database structure and data model.
Working alongside internal departments to design, develop, test and release quality deliverables.
Communicating effectively within the Application Systems Team, and with other users inside and outside the Business.
