Job Title: Junior Analyst Schillings Critical Risks
Reporting to: Senior Associate
Job Purpose:
This Junior Analyst role sits within the Schillings Critical Risk team. You should be interested in security and politics, in the way the world really works, and helping clients to navigate that. This is a new role in a new team with significant growth ambitions. You will have the drive and entrepreneurial spirit to proactively develop this role with our support. We help our clients to:
- Counter State Level security, political and commercial threats from Governments, competitors, blackmailers, disinformation and hostile actors.
- Protect their family and their business against physical and cyber security threats (including conflict, kidnap, extortion etc.)
- Navigate complex geopolitical landscapes, to make ambitions become reality.
You will be tasked with the delivery of written analysis to inform our adviceto clients and ourBusiness Development activities.
This is an entry level role with genuine opportunities to develop and progress rapidly. Accordingly you will be provided with support in developing business writing skills, strategic and critical thinking and managing ambiguity key attributes for success at Schillings.
Role Accountabilities
- Produce high quality analysis for internal stakeholders, often to be used in client advice.
- Think and reason intelligently on issues affecting clients in jurisdictions, industries and matters on which you have limited prior knowledge.
- Rapidly assemble key considerations and be prepared to give your opinion on the best course of action.
- Meet fee and profitability targets.
- Develop an internal network of people that benefit from your work, and carve out your own speciality in line with our clients needs.

- A critical thinker who assesses problems with a broad perspective, displaying intellectual rigor, but is willing to offer an opinion based on incomplete information.
- Able to take the initiative when the requirements or output are ambiguous or rapidly changing.

- Understanding for the fact that our specific type of issues related to security, state level threats or geopolitical risk do not always happen between 9 and 5 and work will sometimes be required out of hours.
