A bit about the role
We are Forest, London’s most sustainable shared eBike operator. We bridge the gap between affordability and sustainability, using our advertising revenue to offer all users 10 minutes free cycling daily.
We’ve just closed a Series A funding round and are growing at a rapid rate. We’re expanding our revenue streams and getting ready for our international expansion.
We are looking for a Junior Accountant who wants to hit the ground running (or cycling) and take on the exciting challenges ahead. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability, a strong foundation in accounting principles, and a desire to learn and grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will assist in multiple activities related to our daily financial operations.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Managing accounts payable and receivable, monitoring weekly cash flow and ensuring an accurate bookkeeping process.
- Working collaboratively with other teams to create, adjust and monitor budgets
- Preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, adhering to UK/International accounting laws and standards
- Assist in managing the payment run process for an expanding business, keeping up to date records of supplier payments and expenses
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and supporting the preparation of tax-related documents and filings
- Assist with ad hoc financial tasks and analysis for new business lines and special projects
Who you are:
- You have a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience such as work as a Bookkeeper)
- You have 0-2 years experience in accounting and are eager for a new opportunity and challenge after your degree or previous career
- You are looking for a company to complete your work experience with to gain qualifications in accountancy
- Strong understanding of IFRS accounting principles and financial concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as Xero
- You thrive in an environment where you can be proactive and take initiative
- You are a team player who enjoys working collaboratively in a team environment
