Title: Head of English
Location: Dibden Park School, Southampton
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum dependent on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent; Term time only

We are looking for the right person to join our brand new team at Dibden Park School who can help us to develop and drive this aspect of our English Curriculum.
Ideally you will have experiencing of teaching within a primary school/department, but it is not essential.
About the role
As Head of English, you will promote a relentless focus on the quality of education and delivery of a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of children and young people along with producing positive outcomes. You must be willing to work with students with SEMH needs.
The successful candidate will be an innovative, reflective practitioner who can demonstrate the willingness to adapt and learn.
We are looking for an individual with high expectations and standards who can offer excellent behavioural management skills. An additional strength would be a creative, engaging approach to curriculum design and planning for pupils.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate may have industry experience and experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with children with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties.

We are looking for an individual who is able to help inspire and engage the young people that we serve. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience in a challenging, motivating and highly rewarding environment. Previous experience of working in a SEMH environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just as important.
You will have a Degree and Teaching Qualifications and experience teaching English.

Dibden Park School is a brand-new school based in Southampton, due to open in September 2023. Dibden Park School will place 60 students and will cater to students with social and emotional mental health and other complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and develop with a new staff team in a newly established independent special school.
