What you'll be doing?
Within the Construction environment, think about buying materials, managing big projects, ensuring health and safety and customer service. At any given time, you’ll find us working on some circa 400 developments in both towns and rural areas across the UK, and every one poses unique challenges. Some are from scratch on brownfield sites; others see us adapting existing buildings, like old factories or disused hospitals.

Reporting to the Site Management Team you will assist in building quality homes for the future.
You will be expected to:
- Carry out all works on site as instructed by the Site Manager and in line with BDW standards and procedures as per the good practice guide
- Take personal responsibility for Health and Safety on site,
- Construct first fix installations to various properties as per details supplied by the Management Team. Ensuring all stair protection and fall arrest systems are installed as per manufacturer’s instructions. All works to be inspected as per NHBC requirements. Ensure when fixing plasterboard all lifting and manual handling works have been assessed and explained as per method statement and risk assessments signed at induction to site
- Ensure working area is kept clean and tidy to prevent trip hazards and that all appropriate PPE is worn
- Maintaining clear and material free access to plots and escape routes
- Construct Second Fix installations to properties as per details supplied by the Management Team. Ensuring that all materials are correct and installed as per good practice guide including, doors, architraves, kitchens, wardrobes and any vanity units, as detailed in method statements and risk assessments. All NHBC inspections to be carried out as required and checked by the management team
- Construct Final Fix installations to various properties as per details supplied by the Management Team. Ensuring that all works are completed to an acceptable standard method statements and risk assessments are signed and comply to NHBC specification
- Window installation carried out as per drawings and details per method statement and risk assessments signed at induction
- Waste Management
- Ensure materials are segregated and disposed of in correct skips
- Ensure any reusable materials are removed from skips and stacked for reuse
- Ensure bins are in each plot and emptied regularly
- Ensure working area kept clean and tidy
- Plant and Equipment
- Ensure all tools are maintained, checked for defects weekly and PAT tested annuall
- Open and lock up plot at the start and end of each working day
- Ensure plots under construction are
- kept tidy by all trade
- floor protection installed
- plots loaded with materials to allow Trades to work, i.e. Plasterboard
- Walk round plots under construction on a daily basis and ensure that there are no surplus materials lying around.
What you'll need?
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
- Reliable and Hard working
- SVQ Level 3 or above with appropriate CSCS Card
- Impact Nailer training and cartridge tool certification if required.
