Job Coach North West England
Job description
The role of Job Coach is almost a hybrid SEN Teaching Assistant role. In essence you will be supporting a student who is entering employment. This could be via direct employment or through a supported apprenticeship/internship. The student will be employed and you will be with them to support them in the role. You will work closely with the student and also with the employer to ensure that the pupil gets the best support they can and can be the best that they can in the role. Each student has their own EHCP.
Many of the skills and attributes required for a SEN teaching assistant role are also required for the job coach role however the key difference is that you will be providing targeted and defined 1-1 student support and it is in an employment setting as oppose to educational. You will work closely with ourselves (Red Apple Education) and the respective schools we are supporting.
We require job coaches for new roles that will be starting in September 2023.
These are full time and long term roles. You will work on a fixed term contract. Your pay will be monthly, PAYE. Training is organised in August and we also hold an induction before you start in the role.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in a similar role or SEN teaching assistant, care or support work experience. You will be a self starter with the ability to work unsupervised. You must have a passion for supporting pupils and helping them grow and develop both personally and academically. You will have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
This is a very exciting opportunity providing an opportunity to make a difference to a young person's future opportunities and career.
The rate of pay will be £17.00 per hour (Monday to Friday).
You must have an update to date (on the Update Service) and clear DBS. If you do not have a DBS, we can assist you with securing one.
