We’re now looking for a JavaScript Web Engineer, who enjoys a challenge, to join us.

You will:
- Strong JavaScript skills and experience with at least one modern JS framework such as React.js, Next.js is required. Candidates must be familiar with writing modern ES6 syntax and be comfortable writing modular reusable components.
- Experience writing styles using a CSS preprocessor, utilising variables, mixins, functions, etc.
- Good understanding of how to create responsive web designs that work across a variety of browsers and devices.
- Buildpixel-perfect,responsive,accessibleUIs.
- Maintaincodeandwriteautomatedteststoensuretheproductisofthe highest quality.
- Ensure the quality of the software you write via unit tests, integration tests and automated UI tests.
What skills do you need?
Required
- Firm grasp of the JavaScript and TypeScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax and able to write well-documented, clean JavaScript code compliant with the latest standards.
- Experience using component libraries like Material UI and Tailwind UI.
- Solid knowledge of best-practice at working with third-party dependencies
and debugging dependency conflicts.
- Experience with web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and testing for compliance.
- Experience with Web Application Security Standards and testing for common vulnerabilities.
- Writing code that follows SOLID principles, platform-specific conventions and common design patterns.
- Experience implementing automated testing libraries like Jest
- Knowledge of using git-based source control (*we use Bitbucket).
- Good communications skills and able to work in a client-facing role.
Desirable
- Practical experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery techniques and toolchains.
- Experience using a headless CMS
- Skilled in securing data in transit and at rest using a variety of encryption
techniques.
- Knowledge of Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with static site generation using Gatsby
- Experience with GraphQL
