Java Developer
Glasgow
As a Barclays Java Developer, you will get an exciting opportunity to work actively within Markets Post Trade along with Risk Finance and Treasury. In your role, you will help design and build trade data across the front to back stack design. It will also be your responsibility to design and develop macro services in addition to providing overall support across the BAU space.

- Contributing to the design and building of highly scalable applications used for trade validation, lifecycle tracking and real-time consumption of trade data
- Interacting with end users & product owners to know their requirements and build solutions
- Implementing functional solutions and regression tests
- Contributing to design sessions and coordination of releases in an active manner
- Providing assistance to the applications of BAU work as needed
- Doing ad hoc duties as and when required
- Excellent Java and development skills, including extensive multi-threaded programming and SQL experience
- Prior experience of building enterprise scale applications
- Spring framework, with hands-on experience of Java and J2EE technologies
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience in working with Kafka
- Experience working in an investment bank preferable
- Working knowledge of agile and Scrum, DevOps and exposure to cloud technologies will be an added advantage
- Good communication skills, with ability to communicate thoughts, designs, and implementations in both written and verbal form
