Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm Location: United States Air Force Academy Full Time employees supporting contracts for the Federal government that are covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA) earn fringe benefits according their Wage Determination. Position Description The Floor Technician will perform all work as prescribed in the statement of work for each contract. In addition, the incumbent will know how to manage an area (amount of floor that can be finished within specified timeframe), use machines properly, clean machines and know how to use chemicals. The Floor Technician will also train assigned personnel on the use of the various equipment. OBJECTIVE: To perform all types of floor care as outlined in the contract QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and must be at least 18 years old. Experience or knowledge of basic mechanics required. A valid Colorado driver’s license without a history of violations is also required, with the ability to travel in personal vehicle with necessary insurance. It is preferred that the incumbent have knowledge of floor care and types of floors, demonstrate the ability to work with various types of internal and external customers including working with persons with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions. The incumbent must be neat in appearance with appropriate hygiene, grooming and dress for the job. Some overtime required with the ability to work some weekends and/or holidays and work flexible shifts. Able to lift, bend, stoop walk and stand for extended periods of time and pass background check. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Floor Upkeep and Maintenance The Floor Technician will perform all work as prescribed in the statement of work for each contract. The Floor Technician will also train assigned personnel on the use of the various equipment. Supply Management The Floor Technician will conduct a physical inventory of Floor Care Supplies on a weekly basis and submit it to the Supervisor / Site Manager. Relationship Management The Floor Technician will keep the Supervisor / Site Manager informed of progress, considerations, and pertinent information; maintain open communication at all times in relationship with other supervisors, work leaders and customers. In addition, the incumbent will deal effective and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines and perform any Janitorial duties as assigned. Background Check Requirements **Per the Federal regulation - 5352.242-9000: CONTRACTOR ACCESS TO AIR FORCE INSTALLATIONS (NOV 2012): The contractor shall obtain base identification and vehicle passes, if required, for all contractor personnel who make frequent visits to or perform work on the Air Force installation(s) cited in the contract. Contractor personnel are required to wear or prominently display installation identification badges or contractor-furnished, contractor identification badges while visiting or performing work on the The contractor shall submit a written request on company letterhead to the contracting officer listing the following: contract number, location of work site, start and stop dates, and names of employees and subcontractor employees needing access to the base. The letter will also specify the individual(s) authorized to sign for a request for base identification credentials or vehicle passes. The contracting officer will endorse the request and forward it to the issuing base pass and registration office or Security Forces for processing. When reporting to the registration office, the authorized contractor individual(s) should provide a valid driver’s license, current vehicle registration, valid vehicle insurance certificate, and refer to USAFA A-01 Contractor Access to USAFA Instruction to obtain a vehicle During performance of the contract, the contractor shall be responsible for obtaining required identification for newly assigned personnel and for prompt return of credentials and vehicle passes for any employee who no longer requires access to the work Work under this contract does not require entry into controlled areas. Additional Special Clearance requirements are outlined in PWS Section 4.2. Upon completion or termination of the contract or expiration of the identification passes, the prime contractor shall ensure that all base identification passes issued to employees and subcontractor employees are returned to the issuing Failure to comply with these requirements may result in withholding of final 10 CONS Addendum: Per AFI 91-201 para. 2.12 applicable to all AF contract and lease, contractors and subcontractors are to promptly report pertinent facts regarding mishaps involving reportable damage or injury to the Air Force and to cooperate in any Air Force safety investigation. For additional guidance on contracts see AFI 91-202, The US Air Force Mishap Prevention Program specifically paragraphs. 3.5.1, 3.13.3. and 8.10. In addition per USAFA Supplement to AFI 91-201 paragraph 2.12, the contractor will report government property damage or serious injury to contractor personnel to USAFA/SE within one duty day of the mishap or event.
