Job description
A vacancy for a permanent full-time janitor position has become available at Jordanhill School.
Hours for this post are 39 hours per week Monday to Saturday. There is a rotational 3-week cycle of early, day and evening shift patterns ranging from 7am - 9.30pm
Working hours will be discussed with interested candidates. Some seasonal adjustments are mutually agreed and made to the working pattern during the school holidays when evening work and Saturday working is not required.
Job Description and Person Specification
The successful applicant will be contracted to undertake the duties in the Job Description and Person Specification available on our website www.jordanhill.gov.uk/jobs and include:
- Security and key holding tasks across the school site
- Maintenance of the school estate and carrying out of minor repairs and DIY including basic electrical, plumbing, decoration and joinery tasks
- Undertake manual handling and some working at heights
- Churn management delivering packages and deliveries
- Due diligence daily/weekly/monthly checks on all aspects of the facilities
- Regular journeys in the school minibus/van to support the school operation
- Organise and supervise cleaning staff whilst on duty and in the absence of the Facilities Manager
- Undertake any necessary cleaning and grounds maintenance
- Respond to the in-house janitorial support log
All employees are eligible for enrolment in Strathclyde Pension Fund the local government pension provider.
