Duties
Assists Activity Manager in operations of a laundry/ dry cleaning sales center. Monitors internal methods and procedures and controls to ensure the efficient operation of the center. Ensures supplies on hand are adequate to conduct business, ie. poly bags, laundry/dry cleaning tickets, forms, etc. Opens and closes facility and maintains security of building, cash and garments.
Receives garments/articles to be cleaned from authorized patrons. Completes laundry/dry cleaning tickets. Indicates type of service to be performed, inspects garments, sorts, tags, prices and places garments in basket for pickup and processing. Prepares and maintains spreadsheets of all work dry cleaned, by date and month, utilizing Microsoft Excel. Verifies and inspects returned garments from the dry cleaning plant. Reconciles garments returned with garments sent. Operates cash register, receives payment and makes change and completes related sales records. Responsible for preparing the daily bank deposit. Contacts customers when garments have not been picked up within 30 days. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Maintains personal identification information IAW with prescribed regulations and ensures confidentiality and security of information. Handles sensitive information that is proprietary, privileged, confidential, or otherwise legally exempt from disclosure. Safeguards sensitive information, messages, or correspondence in accordance with rules and regulations such as those covered by the Privacy Act, 5 USC 552(a), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Public Law 104-191, and DoD Directive 6025.18. Notifies the higher level supervisor and senders immediately when personal identification information has been released and advises on how to properly recover, and/or protect information.
Provides superior customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards and any injury, occupational illness and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

EVALUATIONS:
Qualifications
One year experience overseeing operation of a small retail establishment. Must be familiar with business mathematics and merchandising methods. Skill to operate cash register and handle large sums of money accurately. Skill to process daily activity paperwork. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to life and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. Skill to operate a personal computer and associated peripheral equipment. Ability to create word processing and spreadsheet documents using various features in Microsoft Word and Excel.
