Job description
We are recruiting a new janitor to work for 20 hours per week at a salary of £25,000 pro-rata. For the purpose of supporting our client's facilities management needs at their mixed residential and office site in Grangetown, Cardiff.
The successful candidate should be warm, friendly, conscientious and proactive.
They will be required to;
- Carry out cleaning duties on a daily basis, low- and high-rise cleaning. As per cleaning scope of works.
- Ensure all areas are free from rubbish, check all external bins empty, replenish with black bags and jet external areas
- Clean and sanitise bin stores. Ensure floor areas are disinfected daily and clear from any debris and rubbish. Replenish bins with black bags.
- Clean and sanitise janitor’s room and storerooms, ensuring they are clutter and free from hazards
- Refilling and restocking, cleaning supplies, toiletries, to include hand wash hand sanitiser, paper towels, toilet rolls and ordering new supplies as per requested by Facilities and office manager.
- Notify the Facilities Manager of any repairs and hazardous areas, carry out minor maintenance repairs tasks such as replacing toilet seats, unblocking sinks, toilets, drains, replacing light bulbs, minor touching up of paint work, jet washing, removing marks from floors, walls and graffiti and any other duties as per request from the facilities manager.
- Conducting monthly deep cleans as per request.
- Ensure all equipment is operable and maintain to a high standard.
- Fills out cleaning and maintenance checklists at the end of every shift.
- Open and close the site, ensuring the site is secure.
- Follow health and safety rules and precautions.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Assist with furniture setup of events programme.
The role is;
1) 5 days a week, 20 hours a day at a salary of £25,000 prorota.
2) Monday - Friday no bank holidays
2) Shifts will alternate between a flexible day shift of 4 hours between 8am-4pm and an evening shift of 6-10pm.
