Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated IT professional.
You will be an integral member of our IT Team. Reporting to and working closely with the Operational Team Leader, you will assist in the planning and delivery of IT services within the Faculty of Science and its departments.
The primary focus of the role will be to provide support to the IT Team and other colleagues in supporting the procure-to-pay process for IT orders. You will be responsible for procuring IT equipment, providing advice and recommendations, coordinating requisitions, ordering, good receipting, stock management and storage of IT hardware, peripherals, software licenses and other IT/AV related items.
You will be the main point of contact for both staff and research students for IT-related queries, providing detailed information and guidance and diagnosing and solving technical problems.
You will monitor and maintain IT equipment, resolving issues with hardware and software, and will set up computers to user requirements.
You will work closely with other members of the IT Team, providing cover and support as required.
You will be required to work independently, organising your own workload and having a proactive approach to work. A significant proportion of the work will be reactive, thus you will be expected to manage multiple and conflicting priorities on a day-to-day basis and have the ability to adapt your skills to new circumstances.
