Would you like the opportunity to join a highly successful team? We are looking to appoint an IT Technician Apprentice, who will be responsible for providing IT support to staff and pupils at Hales Valley Trust in line with the vision and values of Hales Valley Trust.

We are currently made up of 5 primary schools, based in Dudley in the West Midlands. Key Details:
Salary: £7.50 per hour (A fantastic apprentice wage!)
Working week: Full time 30 hours per week. (Term Time)
Apprenticeship Details - 24 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Qualification. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).
Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 3rd best UK training provider)!
General Duties;
- To assist in the day-to-day running and support of the Trust schools
- To assist the Senior ICT Technician to ensure that the Trust networks and interactive learning equipment is in working order to enable effective teaching and learning
- To report any faults in a timely manner and follow these up to ensure disruption to teaching and learning is minimised
- Assist staff with technical issues as and when necessary
- To keep up to date with latest technology trends and solutions
- To follow the Trust Staff Conduct policy
- To support the Senior ICT Technician in understanding what to do in a situation where there is a technical failure, so that the school system could still operate effectively. This may be fixable remotely or need a site visit.
- Be familiar with data Protection and GDPR legislation and how it will impact upon the school’s practices.
- Understand the management information systems that are currently used across the Trust and remain up-to-date on new technologies that may be more efficient
- Understand the Trust strategy for using technology, which is aligned to the overall vision and plans for the Trust and ensures value for money, utilise latest technology and advise trust staff and schools on best practice to ensure maximising potential
- To assist the Senior ICT Technician in monitoring and reviewing the performance of technology across the Trust, making amendments as necessary
- To assist in ensuring resources, support and training are provided to enable staff to use the software effectively
- To assist in carrying out the installation of new audio visual and interactive learning equipment and set up and operate audio equipment throughout the Trust
- Work with the Senior ICT Technician and IT Manager to resolve IT queries across the whole Trust site ensuring timely resolution to requests/problems and regular status updates of requests/problems
- Promote the effective use of IT equipment to staff, students and colleague
- Keep up to date and provide support on the main software packages used within the school
- To assist with addressing issues with the Trust’s intranet and internet sites
- Keep up-to-date with developments in IT
- Setting up equipment for delivery of curriculum, staff software training where applicable
- To assist the Senior ICT Technician with maintaining the inventory of IT equipment and assist with annual audits as required
- Be aware of school and government policies and deliver ICT in accordance with these
Requirements;
GCSE English and Mathematics Grade A-C/4 to 9 or equivalent Level 2 Functional Skills.
An interest in ICT / knowledge or relevant skills.
Driving License
