We are looking for an experienced IT Technician to join our team in St. Brieux, SK. Our ideal candidate is customer-focused with strong troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability and knowledge to solve complex problems and conduct in-depth research.

Responsibilities:

As a senior member of our IT team, you will:

• Respond to employee requests for hardware or software support and take on more complex tasks (act as an escalation point for ticketing system)
• Provide IT-related training or information to team members when needed
• Conduct research and make recommendations to the IT team and company leadership in order to plan and develop information technology resources, as they relate to individual hardware and office software. This includes collaborating with stakeholders from various departments to determine their requirements, as well as testing compatibility of new hardware with current internal systems.
• Identify areas of improvement and research and recommend solutions for both the IT department and company in general.
• Maintain sufficient inventories of computer and peripheral spare parts and consumables
• Troubleshoot VBScript and similar technologies to diagnose issues within internal software databases
• Identify root causes of IT related problems and relay them to the development team in order to facilitate timely resolution
• Ensure effective control over equipment lifecycles
• Identify and provide recommendations on new products in the market that could address gaps and improve efficiency.
• Provide IT services in an effective, efficient and cooperative manner to ensure quality access to technology services available on our computer network.
• Document processes and procedures in the IT Knowledgebase

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or IT-related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (must include experience supporting Windows/ Microsoft Office applications)
• Sound knowledge of computer technology, both hardware and software
• Strong VMware knowledge
• Effective troubleshooting abilities and research skills
• Continuous improvement mindset, including keeping current on IT trends
• Effective prioritization and time management skills
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team
• Effective customer service and communication skills
