We are seeking to appoint 2 x first line ICT Technicians on a full time, apprenticeship basis, with an immediate start.
The purpose of this post is to provide an efficient and effective ICT technical support service to pupils, staff and academy guests, whilst ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of ICT technologies within our London Academies.
PLEASE NOTE: This position is multi-sited and involves regular daily travel so would suit a driver, you would be expected to travel across multiple sites / schools, responding to IT issues that arise. (Travel expenses are covered as and when travel between difference sites is required).

Apprenticeship Details: IT Solutions Technician (Level 3) qualification. Expected Duration to complete course is 21 months.

- Wage: Ages 21-22: £9.18 and Age 23+ £9.50 per hour.

- Main duties and responsibilities
- Providing technical foresight and senior level ICT advice and information to support senior staff with strategic and operational decision-making within OAT London academies.
- Support in the creation and implementation of the ICT development plan for academies in line with the wider OAT ICT strategy and goals.
- Support the ICT manager and senior staff in communicating the ICT strategy, operational plan, policies, procedures, systems and tools, within academies.
- Install and maintain education technology (EdTech) infrastructure including computer hardware, software, desktop clients, laptops, audio/visual equipment and peripherals.
- Support in the management of the inventory of ICT equipment ensuring it is up to date and ensuring starters are equipped and leavers return academy property.
- Support in the management and expansion of the academy network infrastructure including switches, cabling and wireless network equipment.
- Carry out routine administration, monitoring and maintenance including, but not limited to, data backups, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy maintenance, hardware and AV maintenance.
- Support in the creation and maintenance of a disaster recovery plan including ongoing testing.
- Carry out software installation, maintenance and upgrading in line with the relevant academy, cluster and OAT policies.
- Ensure that computer workstation images are kept up to date with latest patches, updates etc. and support the deployment of images where necessary.
- To keep abreast of EdTech developments and encourage the effective use of ICT at all levels.
- To support staff and students with the use of ICT, including arranging and running training sessions where required.
- To support staff and students with the set-up and preparation of ICT equipment across academies.
- Manage the checking and re-fitting of toner and cartridges and the carrying out of periodic printer maintenance within academies such as head cleaning and alignment.
- Support the procurement process where required ensuring stock levels of spares and consumables are maintained and that you liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support in the management of staff and student accounts and, where necessary, add new members of the academy community and organise the archiving of user materials from school leavers before removal or archiving of their user accounts, in accordance with legislation e.g., GDPR.
- Support the ICT network manager and senior staff with the adoption of the help desk system that will be used to record and track ICT Team work to resolve staff & pupil support requests.
- Support the ICT network manager and senior staff with the use of the help desk system and generate reports from the help desk system.
- To be aware of all OAT and academy policies relating to the role and carry out the responsibilities detailed therein.
- Support the database infrastructure for onsite servers and systems, as required.
- Support the regional and central ICT staff with the integration and roll out of cross-organisation services and solutions.
- Support internal stakeholders with the technical elements of the academy MIS system and liaise with external stakeholders as required.
- Support in the maintenance of an ICT Software and Equipment audit, including license agreements along with costs and renewal dates and support finance staff with budget planning.
- Working with estates, behaviour and safeguarding staff, support the deployment, management and maintenance of CCTV systems.

- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade C/4 Grade or above) essential
