About the role.
The IT Technology team is an integral part of HBEU Technology, providing full technology support to all Global Business’s and Global functions located in Armenia, Bermuda, Channel Islands (Jersey and Guernsey), Isle of Man and Malta.
The IT Technical Product Manager role is accountable for Analysis & product and stakeholder management across the 5 countries listed above. Collaborate with peers in IT (across markets, regionally and globally), regional business and in country business partners, to ensure the delivery of IT & Analysis services for both Run the Bank and Change the Bank work.
The role reports to the IT Technical Product Management Lead and is located within HSBC House (St Helier).
In this role, you will:
- Oversee product/project and analysis activities for the 5 supported countries.
- Work with Product Owners and DevOps teams responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of business services, a discrete set or shared products/platforms/environments that are used/consumed by other DevOps teams.
- Translate business requirement into system requirements using the appropriate terminology and methodologies to facilitate the progression of a project through to completion, including supporting testing lifecycle where appropriate.
- Provide business driven IT consultancy, giving information about potential technology solutions, costs and timescales to enable the Business Stakeholders to make informed choices about their investments in IT
- Liaise with relevant business areas, IT teams and other functions to ensure that delivery requirement and scope is captured and understood properly.
- Ability to provide regular and consistent reporting across product Portfolio to multiple stakeholders, including financial and progress status.
Skills and experience we require:
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate with a wide spectrum of stakeholders across multiple countries and cultures.
- Demonstrate excellent analytical skills to ensure business problems are questioned and understood and the solutions are cost effective and timely
- Experience working on complex regulatory programmes involving interactions with external stakeholders and multiple internal delivery teams.
- Ability to work in an unstructured and changing environment, competent at managing changing priorities and able to pivot on strategy.
- Strong written and verbal communication especially with senior stakeholders and global teams.
- Ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify and resolve complex problems whilst managing ambiguity, adhering to timelines and ensuring high quality of output.
- Background in IT and/or Financial Services is essential.
- Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence an advantage but not critical
- Excellent organisational skills
- A positive, self-starter capable of leading and motivating others
- Highly motivated with a strong attention to detail
