Job description
The DSL is part of a long-standing tradition of excellence in the world-wide networks of more than 140 schools abroad. All are independent schools accredited and supported by the Federal Republic of Germany. The DSL offers a challenging educational program from Kindergarten to Abitur for 870 pupils with a specific emphasis on German language and culture.
The school has a bi-lingual Administration Team that supports all departments across the DSL and the role is situated in the Grade II listed Douglas House.
Position:
- Help administer the school’s computerised systems supporting the IT Manager/IT Systems Administrator.
- Support and maintain the Level 1, 2 helpdesk.
- Troubleshoot end user desktop hardware & software problems.
- Setup and maintain new desktop hardware and machines.
- Help maintain the School’s iPad fleet through Jamf MDM (Mobile Device Management System)
- Carry out IT related projects as assigned in a diverse environment.
- Setup and maintain user accounts in active directory, Office365, ParentPay.
This position requires a motivated team player who is capable of unsupervised tasking
Requirements:
- Familiar with current Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems, Office 2021/365, and standard applications in a domain environment.
- Experience in troubleshooting, network and desktop issues
- Gather quality information in order to be able to diagnose and solve IT problems and discern the level of support required
- Maintain a professional manner when dealing with end users
- Work as part of a team and maintain composure in the face of changing workloads and constant interruptions
- MCSA or equivalent knowledge
- Help Desk L1 and L2 experience
Desirable Skills
- Familiar with requirements in an educational setting
- Familiar with cloud services
- Experience with integration of Apple products (i.e. iPads)
- German speaker would be advantageous, but not essential
