  • CompTIA A + (Exam 1 and 2)

  • CompTIA Cloud Essentials +


We are recruiting on behalf of a large Infrastructure support service provider where you will gain valuable experience as a Level 3 Information Communications Technician, following the Support Technician pathway. We pride ourselves on the support we give our apprentices, you won’t be left on your own to figure things out, we will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey together with your employer!


About the company

An opportunity for an IT Support Technician to join one of the most successful and high-profile contracts, delivering secure IT services to a major UK Central Government department in Whitehall, London.

Working as part of a dedicated on-site team you will provide system administration and 1st/2nd line support for a complex physical network and Microsoft Windows environment.

We actively encourage innovation, so this role will include evaluating and integrating new technology/equipment to improve our services.


What you will be doing:

  • First point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone, email, and IT support portal.

  • Responsible for handling support of service requests which relate to all technology including workstations, servers, printers, LAN, and vendor specific inhouse applications.

  • Administration and troubleshooting of CAFM system.

  • Participate and assist in driving knowledge management.

  • Basic Administration of Exchange email system

  • Assist with IT Inventory management.

  • Assist with internal IT projects.


The training you'll be provided with
:

  • Comprehensive onboarding
  • Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship standard

  • Training for all pathways of your IT career (support technician, network technician, digital communications technician)

  • Specialising in a portfolio of evidence for the Support Technician pathway

  • Access to uCertify training platform; core learning materials, assessments, and practical hands-on-labs

  • e-learning training materials

  • Bi-weekly virtual classroom training on the CompTIA vendor qualifications

  • Monthly work-based coaches visits and competency checks

  • Primary Goal Support desk for technical support


You will also have the opportunity to network with a range of other apprentices on our programme who can share ideas, offer suggestions and support. Our apprentices love being able to help each other!

As one of our apprentices you will also have access to our online portal that will provide you with information and technical guidance, as well as links to the helpdesk to speak to technicians who can give real-time advice and support.

  • Windows 10 Administration & Support

  • Basic understanding of IT security principles

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

  • Whilst a current security clearance isn’t a pre-requisite, you will be required to obtain and then retain SC clearance.

Working Week:

Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

37.5 hours per week.


Starting Salary: £20,385 per annum.

Desired Qualifications:

We require someone who is educated to GCSE standard English and Maths grade 4 (or above), or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths.


Expected Duration:

15 months and 4 Months End Point Assessment
