Job description

As an IT Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Providing onsite and remote support to businesses and schools on hardware, software, and network issues
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues for clients via helpdesk software
- Undertaking basic maintenance of servers, desktops, mobile devices, network switches, and peripherals (e.g. interactive classroom systems)
- Building and upgrading PC components as and when required
- Administering user accounts and email accounts on Office 365/Google Apps
- Providing technical support for a range of operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server 2012-2019, Windows 10, Windows 11, Mac OSX, iOS, and Android
- Undertaking basic maintenance of server administration, backups, etc.
- Attending and participating in relevant meetings and training as required
To be considered for this role, you should have experience in:
- Monitoring and maintaining systems and networks
- Installing and configuring systems
- Diagnosing faults in both hardware and software
- Solving technical and application issues by phone, email, or in-person
- Walking clients through troubleshooting steps
- Re-fitting and/or replacing client hardware
- Supporting updates and roll-outs for client applications and training users as needed
- Working with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Prioritising and managing multiple open tickets
- Establishing good working relationships with clients
- At least two years of experience working in a similar position or providing remote and onsite support to customers

As an IT Technician visiting schools, you will be required to hold a clean UK Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This is a mandatory requirement for working with children and young people, and we will fund the cost of obtaining this check for you. It is important that you are able to pass a DBS check in order to be considered for this role. Please be aware that any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of a DBS check.
You will be offered a starting salary of between £21,000 and £24,000 per year, as well as benefits such as:

The position is based in Blackpool and does not offer the option to work remotely.
