Trainee IT Support Technician – Apprenticeship 2023 – Watford

What will you be doing?
As a Trainee IT Support Technician , you will work alongside experienced IT professionals as part of our IT Service Desk.
You will learn to provide support to our end users and learn the skills and knowledge of the various Digital technology, software, communications and IT systems Throughout the apprenticeship, you will learn the following:
Excellent IT support provision to our end users- Troubleshooting and fixing IT issues over the telephone, in person and through our digital support system (e.g. portal)
- Using wide range of hardware and Digital applications
- Working with other teams across IT to fix more complex issues
- You will rotate in different IT roles within our IT Department over a 2 year period to gain a broader understanding and appreciation of all areas of IT.
Overall, you will gain a technical understanding of Skanska’s hardware, software and digital technology and a platform to develop a career within IT.
What qualification will you be studying towards?
You will be studying a Level 3 qualification initially.

Where will you be working?
You will be based at our brand-new modern head office in Leavesden Park near Watford (right next Harry Potter World). There is free parking on site, or you can use our shuttle bus service from and to Watford Junction station.
What will we need from you?
5 GCSEs (Grades 4-9) including Maths, English and preferably Computer Science (Grade 4-9) or their equivalent.- You will enjoy working with other people
- Enthusiasm to learn and pro-active in your approach to work
- Passion for IT and Digital Technology Solutions
- New ideas to help us innovate and work more effectively

Support and funding to help you achieve a Level 3 qualification in IT Solutions- Starting salary £16-£20K per year + and annual salary reviews
