Shield Foods are a dynamic and leading gourmet seafood distributor in West London, seeking a highly motivated and energetic IT Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support to our business. You will be responsible for providing technical support to our employees, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, working closely alongside our external IT partners and assisting in the implementation of new processes and software solutions. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of technology advancements while maintaining the stability of our current IT infrastructure.

Technical Support Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
  • Assist with hardware and software installations, configurations, and upgrades.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computer systems, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Collaborate with external IT consultants to maintain current infrastructure.
  • Manage Company Mobile Phones.
  • Assist HR with employee onboarding/offboarding.
  • Set up and manage user accounts and access permissions.
  • Perform system upgrades and patches as needed.
  • Conduct regular system maintenance tasks, such as data backups and virus scans.
  • Collaborate with teams and departments to assess technology needs.
  • Participate in the selection, testing, and deployment of new software applications and systems.
  • Develop and execute implementation plans, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Train end-users on new software and processes, creating user guides and documentation as needed.
  • Analyze existing IT processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with Head Of Operations and other department heads to design and implement more efficient and effective IT procedures.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented processes, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records of support requests, resolutions, and software implementation processes.
  • Create and update technical documentation, including manuals, knowledge base articles, and system documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT Consultants to maintain the security and compliance of IT systems, including data backups, antivirus updates, and access controls.
  • Ensure that software implementations comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain and manage control of all IT related stock within the company.
  • Purchase any equipment required, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times.
  • Conduct regular service checks of IT equipment to ensure proactive resolution of potential issues.
  • Other reasonable duties as required.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
  • Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows, macOS, or Linux.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting tools and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Previous use and knowledge of Slack and ClickUp
  • Familiarity with software based on SQL
  • Qualification or experience in networking
  • Project management skills.

Working Hours & Compensation:

  • Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm.
  • Salary range: £27,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
