IT Support Specialist
As the IT Specialist for FreeWheel, this will not be your ordinary IT support role; this opportunity will give you the ability to showcase your critical thinking skills, complex stakeholder management, and creativity to solve problems based on extremely tight timelines. You will be responsible for all aspects of system administration support and office automation including hardware, systems software, system performance, security, and system network integration. You will be based in the Central London and Osterley sites and report directly to the International IT Manager.
Core Responsibilities
- Support multiple stakeholders (across different job levels) with their IT support needs.
- Write, execute, and monitor backup routines, system boots, system error diagnosis, software installation, disk administration and maintenance logging.
- Manage computer system communications, maintenance scheduling and general welfare of computer environment.
- Perform reviews of terminal sessions, job queues and print queues to ensure proper timing and use of facility resources, including resource loading, data security and inventory of software and hardware systems.
- Demonstrate your proven ability to think outside of the box under extreme time pressure.
- Must have the attitude to solve problems or deliver results in a structured manner.
- Operates auxiliary equipment directly associated with the computer.
- Maintains records regarding output units and supply inventories.
- Assist in adjusting computer operations when units of the system malfunction.
- Make recommendations and improve existing automation systems.
Skills and Experience
- More than 2 years of experience in IT support or engineering with 1st and/or 2nd line support.
- Self-initiative and the drive to provide excellent customer service.
- Proven capability to maintain a positive and proactive approach to problems and situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective planning and organizational skills with experience following procedures and guidelines.
- A good understanding of IT systems (servers, networks, laptops, antivirus, video conferencing and printing devices).
- Experience with Mac and Windows laptop deployment technologies like Casper and SCCM.
- Experience of using appropriate IT technology, methods, principles, and equipment such as Mac, Cisco phone systems, basic networking knowledge, Active Directory, Windows 8/10, Office365, JAMF, In Tune
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to efficiently work on your own and in a global team environment.
