We are a fast-growing company with 50-100 employees and are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT support specialist to join our team. As we expand, the need for a dedicated individual to lead and build our IT department has become essential. This role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, from managing all IT equipment to setting up and maintaining our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess at least 3 years of experience in the IT industry, with a strong background in setting up IT systems and providing hands-on support. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring our IT operations run efficiently, while also being mindful of cost management.

Responsibilities:

1. IT Equipment Management: - Manage all IT equipment within the business, including procurement, maintenance, and upgrades. - Install new equipment and make modifications to client infrastructure as required.

2. Documentation and Record Keeping: - Maintain accurate documentation on procedures, standards, and inventory of desktop and server equipment. - Utilise IT Service Management tools to track and record site information.

3. Incident and Problem Management: - Handle and resolve IT-related issues, such as network problems, printer malfunctions, firewalls, and internet connections. - Monitor the Helpdesk system for incoming issues and ensure proper logging and documentation.

4. End User Computing Support: - Provide comprehensive end-user support for various business units and multiple locations. - Install, configure, manage, and maintain desktop hardware and software, including Windows 10/11 & Mac OS.

5. Active Directory Administration: - Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and network/application passwords.

6. IT Infrastructure Strategy: - Develop and maintain a robust IT infrastructure strategy aligned with the company's business objectives. - Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, networks, and systems.

7. IT Security and Compliance: - Establish and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices. - Conduct regular audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

8. Project Management: - Manage and coordinate IT projects, ensuring they align with business objectives and add value to the organisation.

9. Cost Management: - Responsible for monetary spend within the IT department, optimising resources and managing costs effectively.

10. Communication and Collaboration: - Demonstrate excellent communication skills and foster effective working relationships at all levels within the company. - Collaborate with external agencies when necessary for specialised tasks before considering in-house recruitment.

Requirements: -

Minimum of 3 years of experience in the IT industry with hands-on experience in IT infrastructure setup and management. - Proven expertise in handling various IT systems, including hardware, software, servers, and networks. - Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 & Mac OS, Active Directory administration, and IT security best practices. - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to address technical issues promptly and effectively. - Previous experience in project management and the ability to identify and prioritise future IT projects. - Adept at managing IT budgets and maintaining cost-effective IT operations. - Strong organisational skills with a keen eye for detail, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping. - Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate well with diverse teams and work independently. - Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion. Salary: £30,535.00-£35,837.00 per year
